The Governor's Pine Ridge Wild Turkey Hunt is an invitation-only, guided hunt that takes place in Northwest Nebraska each fall with the objective to:

  • Showcase western Nebraska’s unique public & private natural resources and recreational facilities and increase the recreational facilities' access and use.

  • Strengthen relationships between state officials, agencies, property owners, and local interests via ‘Boots-on-the-Ground’ interaction.

    Resident: $30

    Non-Resident: $128

    All permits must have a $25 habitat stamp.

    3-5 p.m. - Turkey Hunting 101 Holiday Inn Express Conference Room / Spotted Tail

    Receive an introduction to fall turkey hunting and learn about the highly sought-after Merriam Turkey and conservation efforts at the Holiday Inn Conference Room.

    Then, head out to Spotted Tail Recreation Area to sight in your gun and practice your shot.

    6:30 p.m. - Opening Dinner: Ridgeview Country Club

    Meet with your team members and host/guide for the opportunity to get acquainted and strategize.

    5:30 a.m. - Breakfast: Holiday Inn Express Meeting Room

    DAWN - Hunting: Your guide will pick you up at Holiday Inn Express.

    NOON - Lunch: Box lunches will be available at breakfast to take with you on the hunt.

    4:00 p.m. - Cocktails & Cigars: Chadron State Park

    Enjoy hors d’Ouerves and drinks and visit with other hunters about the activities of the day.

    6:00 p.m. - Banquet: Chadron State Park Group Facility

    A sit-down banquet featuring mouth-watering ribeye steak, cooked just the way you like it. Includes baked potato, salad, coffee or tea. We will share success stories of the hunt.

  • You will be assigned a guide/landowner to help you with the hunt.

    Please note the guides and landowners agree to provide access to their land to hunt.

    They cannot guarantee filling a tag or be responsible for providing you with a trophy bird.
